Dr. Rohila, grew up in Haryana and Panjab in India, and has been in the United States, since 1967. He is a founding member of ACHA, and has been its President since 1993. He served as the President of India Cultural Association in 1995, and is currently also a member of Gujarati Samaj. A psychologist by profession, he practices in Salem, and lives in Keizer, OR.

Mr. Grewal was raised in Panjab, India, and has been in the United States since 1961. A founding member of ACHA, he has served on the Board since 1993. He has been active in India Cultural Association and Sikh Sangat for the last several years. Currently he is serving his second term on Oregon State Commission for Asian Affairs. Last year, he retired after serving as a teacher for 20 years. He lives in Boring, OR.

Dr. Qayum grew up in Uttarpradesh, India, and has been in Portland area since 1970. He is a founding member of ACHA and has been on ACHA Board since 1993. For the last several years, he has been a member of India Cultural Association and is active in Islamic Society of Greater Portland (ISGP). Currently he is serving on the Board of ISGP, and is a professor of Economics at Portland State University. He lives in Lake Oswego, OR.
DIRECTOR 1: Dr. Kanak Raval (503) 644-2124
Dr. Kanak Raval was raised in Gujarat, India. He has served on ACHA Board since 1997. He is a member of India Cultural Association, and Gujarati Samaj. Also, he is on the Board of Kalakendra, and volunteers at OMSI. A pharmaceutical technologist by professional training, he moved to Portland after retiring as Vice President of Research at Block Drug Company.

Gulzar Ahmed was born and raised in Narowal, District Sialkot, Pakistan. He has been in Portland area since 1973. He has a Master's in electrical engineering from Washington State University, Pullman, and owns and operates Crescent Systems, Inc., where he designs elctromagnetically operated industrial movers and shakers. A co-founders of Islamic Society of Greater Portland (ISGP) in 1973, he served as its President through 1994. Now, he is the President of American Muslim Alliance. He lives in Tigard, OR.

Born and raised in Gujarat, Ishvarbhai Patel has been in the United States since 1976.A Civil Engineer by profession, he currently owns and operates motels in Oregon and California. He is President of Gujarati Samaj and on the Board of Portland Chapter of Nergis-Dutt Foundation. He lives in Salem, OR.
Director 4: Dr. Herbert Hoefer (503)493-6494
Dr. Hoefer has an Ed.D. from Columbia University, New York, and a master's degree in Sacred Theology from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He is a pastor of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and served as an educational missionary in Tamil Nadu, India, from 1968-83. He authored and edited several books while in India, but he is probably best known for his research on non-baptized believers in Christ. Upon returning from service in India in 1983, he served as a parish/campus pastor in Wisconsin for 13 years. Since 1997, he has been teaching Bible and World Religions at Concordia University, Portland, OR. As a part of this position, he is expected to teach in India every year for 2 to 3 months. He and his wife Carol have 3 daughters, 2 of whom were born in India; all 3 were raised there.
FINANCIAL ADVISOR (HONORARY): Dharam S. Yadav
Mr. Yadav was born and raised in India. A graduate of the University of Oregon, he lives and works as a Chartered Public Accountant in Portland, OR. He is an honorary financial advisor to ACHA as well as a number of other local South Asian groups.
