From Olenka

EDITOR'S NOTE: This message has been sent by INRFVVP Member Olenka Frenkiel who is the BBC Reporter featured in the documentary "Murder in Purdah" (aired by ABC's Nightline Program as "A Matter of Honor") which first focussed the attention of the world on the grave issue of "honor-killings" in Pakistan in early 1999.  We urge our Members and Friends to see the sequel and to join in the struggle to eradicate all forms of violence toward women in Pakistan. Thank you for your work and your dedication to a very urgent and important cause Olenka.

Fascinating correspondence. Keep up the tireless work Riffat.  If members have a chance to watch the BBC  World Service television this weekend they will be able to see the follow up to the BBC documentary Murder in Purdah which will be broadcast on  8th and 9th of April - four times. It can be seen in many countries around the world including Pakistan.  It is called Licence to Kill and explains how forces (political, legal, tribal and "religious") at every level of society in Pakistan conspire to keep the system of honour killings in place - leading to the murder of thousands of women in that one
country alone.

This is important viewing for anyone who wishes to join the fight against the murder of women in the name of culture or religion.
